Energy Loss Thermography

Non-invasive, non-destructive Energy Screening for Residential and Commercial Buildings

Picture
Infrared Energy Loss Screening Services with Infrared Thermal inspections, LLC are non-invasive and can be performed any time of year. Clients use our services to discover points of energy loss - that lead to costly energy bills - such as missing, damaged, or poor performing insulation, poor window and door seals, failure of double or triple pane windows, and more.

How Does it Work?

Our Lead Thermographer uses a high resolution Thermal Imaging Camera (FLIR E96, 640x480 resolution), field experience, and knowledge as a Level 3 Thermographer to capture, interpret, and report his infrared findings to you.

So, how does Energy Loss Thermography work? Infrared Cameras read the surface temperature of objects. When there is an inconsistency between building materials, such as a wall cavity with no insulation next to a wall cavity with insulation, the resulting surface temperature is easily viewed through a thermal imaging camera.

The above image was taken late evening, around 7 PM. By looking into the image, you will see white represents warmer colors while purple to black on the scale is indicative of cooler temperatures. Knowing this, our Lead Thermographer can infer the bright white and red areas are a result of poor window seals.

This commercial is new construction - it is never too early to have an energy loss evaluation performed!

What are the Benefits of having an Infrared Energy Loss Inspection Performed?

Pinpoint Costly Insulation Deficiencies

Shown in the image above is missing insulation in the wall of a home. This thermal pattern is commonly associated with pest infestation and provides a great visual for starting repairs for any homeowner.

Discover Detached or Improperly Sealed Ductwork

Picture
Routinely high energy bills can be attributed to HVAC system issues such as detached or improperly sealed ductwork. After Energy Loss Thermography Inspections, Infrared Thermal inspections, LLC provides full reports, which can be taken to an HVAC/R Professional for a full review of your system.

Visualize Poorly Insulated Windows and Doors

Poorly insulated windows and doors are easily visualized through a thermal imaging camera.

Improve the Life of HVAC Equipment

Picture
If a building is missing insulation, has leaks in the ductwork, and has poorly sealed doors and windows, the HVAC hardware is sure to work at a harder rate than it would when none of these issues are present.
